In 2015, the full body of US Bishops approved the document Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility in which bishops recognize the call for all Catholics to participate faithfully in the public square. According to the USCCB, “Everyone living in this country is called to participate in public life and contribute to the common good.” In response to this call and obligation, Faithful Citizenship of St. Thomas More was formed with the mission of upholding the teachings of the Catholic Church and publicly defending Catholic values within our community. We fulfill this mission by educating our members about current events, providing formation on Catholic teachings as they relate to those events, and equipping our members with practical strategies for engaging society and culture. Our ministry primarily focuses on issues related to life, faith, family, and freedom.
