Becoming Catholic
Considering the Catholic Faith? Welcome!
We’re so glad you’re here. Whether you’re just beginning to explore or have been feeling a quiet call for some time, we’d be honored to walk with you on this journey. You may have been doing some research online, and so, you may have heard of the technical term for this process which is called the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA).
"If you have a few minutes, filling out the short form below would also be incredibly helpful — it gives us a better idea of how we can serve and support you."
Step 1: Join a group for The Rescue Project
Throughout the year you will have the opportunity to engage your faith, and understand where Christ fits in to your life through The Rescue Project.
The Rescue Project isn’t just another faith formation program, it’s a bold invitation to rediscover the story of salvation and your place in it. A video series created by Fr. John Riccardo and the team at Acts XXIX, this transformative experience dives deep into the heart of the Gospel:
-
Why is there something rather than nothing?
-
Why is everything so obviously messed up?
-
What, if anything, has God done about it?
-
If God has done anything, how should I respond?
Through compelling video sessions, small group discussions, and moments of prayer, The Rescue Project creates space for people to encounter Jesus in a personal and powerful way. This program includes dinner and a chance to get to know other people on the journey in small groups.
When: Sessions are 6 weeks long on Tuesday evenings starting at 6:30pm. The program is offered several times throughout the year, contact Tyler Duffy for details.
Location: More Coffee House located at 6160 S Syracuse Way, Greenwood Village, CO 80111

Step 2: Deeper Formation
After the initial Bible study, you’ll be invited to attend more formal classes that explores the Catholic faith in greater depth. These sessions cover:
-
The Creed – What we believe
-
The Sacraments – How we encounter Christ
-
Morality – How we live as disciples
-
Prayer – How we grow in relationship with God
This part of the journey varies in length depending on when you contact us, along with your background and readiness. It’s a time of learning, reflection, and spiritual growth.
Step 3: Discernment and Full Initiation
As you near the end of your formation, you’ll meet with a team member to discern whether you’re ready to fully enter the Catholic Church.
-
If you are, you’ll receive the Sacraments of Initiation:
-
Baptism (if needed)
-
First Confession
-
Eucharist
-
Confirmation
Through these sacraments, you’ll be fully initiated into the Catholic Church — a moment of deep joy and grace.
"I'm not quite ready to go to start the process. I would like to talk to someone first."
Visiting a Catholic Church for the first time can feel a little intimidating — and that’s completely okay. If you have any questions or just want to talk, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
