MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY
We provide a wide variety of opportunities to cater to every different type of middle schooler – creative and athletic, co-ed and gender-specific, social events and intimate Scripture studies, rallies and monthly service opportunities. Our primary ministry is two weekly youth groups (Echofire) offered on Wednesdays & Thursdays for 6th-8th grade students.
In addition to Echofire, we annually plan and partake in a summer mission trip (Winter Park Bible Sports Camp) and 4 retreats (Fall Retreat, Mountain Madness, Lenten Retreat, and Life With a Mission). High School students also work with us in our mentor program which allows Middle School students to build connections and receive guidance from their older peers who we work with to equip for servant leadership.
We like to do everything in youth ministry with a spirit of fun, so be ready for a lot of laughs and great memories!

“Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable” (1 Cor. 9:25). Run the race and train for the prize—the eternal prize of our life in Christ Jesus. Exercise your muscle of self-discipline, teamwork, and challenging your thought process as you open the word of God with your Middle School male peers. Join us for bro time through Bible Study and playing various sports. In the Summer, we begin by attending Mass together with GRACE.

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior” (Lk. 1:46b-47). Middle School girls come together to study scripture and discuss the different ways in which they can grow in their identity as girls of worth and examples of Christ to others in daily life. Join us for female fellowship, activities, chit-chat, and laughs. In the Summer, we begin by attending Mass together with Guy’s Sports Group.

Have you ever felt a little lost in figuring out how to start reading the Bible more intentionally? Check out this year-round co-ed Bible Study to learn the Gospels and apply them to everyday life. Students are enlightened in their faith true to the teaching of the Catholic Church. You’re invited to find a sense of purpose which can inspire and prepare you to face the world with validation, integrity, and courage. Just as Jesus needed to retreat and change His scenery to worship at His best sometimes, we too can benefit from getting away for a while to truly focus on God’s words to us and our hearts.
STM Middle School Youth Ministry offers four retreats per year—some local or on-site, and some in farther destinations. Retreats are some of the most powerful experiences proclaimed by participants, and we invite you to a similar journey to grow closer to the Lord.
Select Saturday mornings, see calendar for dates and times. Signup is limited, first-come-first-serve.
“The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'” (Mt. 25:40). Every month, we offer two service opportunities to show Christ to people in need. At the St. Elizabeth Sandwich Line, we help prepare meals to be served to people without homes. On the Nursing Home Visit, we meet for breakfast together at Panera Bread and then walk over to spend quality time with the senior residents at Orchard Park Nursing Home. (Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our nursing home visits are temporarily postponed, but we can’t wait to get back and see the amazing residents, so keep an eye on our calendars!) Both opportunities allow for a chance to meet new people, get to know them and their stories, and be an example of Christ’s hand in their life even in simple ways.
Winter Park Mission Trip & Bible Sports Camp – A Christ-based service opportunity to practice leadership and growth in your faith, as you help teach and coach younger children in sports and lead Bible studies! We also get to visit and serve various parishes in the Winter Park area (about two hours away from St. Thomas More). We take a small group so spots are limited and fill quickly, and this trip takes place in mid-July. For incoming 7th & 8th grade youth only.
Project 600 – A massive annual Christmas party for inner-city kids from some of the poorest areas of Denver. This project incorporates volunteer preparation for the event, as well as generous parish toy donations as Christmas gifts for the kids. Click here to learn more.
