Mission Trips
STM High School Youth Ministry offers mission trip opportunities through local, regional, and international trips focused on fellowship, faith development, and service.
Typically we offer regional trips over spring break , and local and international trips during the summer. We serve locally in Denver, but have been all over the country and world, allowing students to learn about travel and culture in addition to service.

Retreats and Pilgrimages
Just as Jesus needed to retreat and change His scenery to worship at His best sometimes, we too can benefit from getting away for a while to truly focus on God’s words to us and our hearts.
STM High School Youth Ministry offers retreats during the year — some local or on-site, and some at off site destinations. Retreats are some of the most powerful experiences proclaimed by participants and we invite you to a similar journey to grow closer to the Lord.
Journey to Life happens each year for all high school students. It is a three-day, two overnight trip, hosted at St. Jude Catholic Church. Students dive deeper into their faith through talks, confession, Mass, small groups and more. Upperclassmen are invited to help lead the retreat with your youth ministers and adult volunteers.
The Lenten Retreat happens each year on Palm Sunday Weekend. It is a two-day, one overnight retreat held here at St. Thomas More. With talks, small groups, games and ‘The Walk’ we dive deeper into the love of Christ right before Easter. ‘The Walk’ is a tradition of the Lenten Retreat. As a group, we carry a wooden cross together, walking roughly 4-miles around the Church. It is an incredible weekend for all middle school and high school youth!
Life With A Mission is a five-day, non overnight retreat in July each year. We meet at STM each afternoon with a new guest speaker, games, snacks and more. Each night there is a different theme night. We include Mass, confession and Eucharistic Adoration at this retreat. This is open to middle and high school students!
We also host occasional pilgrimages.

Service Opportunities
The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’” (Mt. 25:40).We work to provide a variety of service opportunities to high-school teens including nursing home visits, soup kitchen service, and serving within the greater parish community, among many other opportunities.
Project 600 – A massive annual Christmas party for inner-city kids from some of the poorest areas of Denver. This project incorporates volunteer preparation for the event, as well as generous parish toy donations as Christmas gifts for the kids. Click here to learn more.
SOUPer Bowl of Caring – All middle school, high school youth and their families are invited to help our brothers and sisters in need on SuperBowl Sunday. We break into teams, ask for donations at different grocery stores around STM, sort and box donations, and deliver them. All donations go to the Food Bank in downtown Denver! This is a yearly event!
Totus Tuus
A Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through catechesis, evangelization, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. The goal of TOTUS TUUS is to help young people develop their relationship with Jesus Christ so that there is an intimate friendship whereby he may lead them to the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit. Totus Tuus is for 1st grade through 12th grade.
