HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY

Hey, high schoolers! St. Thomas More High School Youth Ministry welcomes you!

While your schedule is overflowing and life can get a little hectic during these four years, STM offers a place where you can grow in relationship with Love and Truth incarnate and belong in our community.

We offer weekly youth group, service opportunities, special events, a mentor program that allows you to guide and connect with middle school youth, and more. We go on unforgettable, life-changing retreats and mission trips: one local, one regional and one international each year. We commune with worldwide Catholic youth on World Youth Day trips.

You’ll find something here for you to fit your interests, schedule and where you are in your faith journey. Join in this powerful adventure. Make your high school experience a good and memorable one in the Lord!

We have brought back The U.C.- a group specifically for the upper classmen in our high-school community. This is a chance for you to develop your faith in anticipation of college and other future opportunities. This group tends to be a little bit less structured than Breakaway, but also tends to go a little bit deeper, and features the Bible Timeline and Theology of the Body.

Mission Trips

STM High School Youth Ministry offers mission trip opportunities through local, regional, and international trips focused on fellowship, faith development, and service. Typically we offer regional trips over spring break , and local and international trips during the summer. We serve locally in Denver, but have been all over the country and world, allowing students to learn about travel and culture in addition to service.

Retreats and Pilgrimages

High School Fall Retreat 2020

Just as Jesus needed to retreat and change His scenery to worship at His best sometimes, we too can benefit from getting away for a while to truly focus on God’s words to us and our hearts.

STM High School Youth Ministry offers retreats during the year — some local or on-site, and some at off site destinations. Retreats are some of the most powerful experiences proclaimed by participants and we invite you to a similar journey to grow closer to the Lord.

March for Life – Every year in January we travel to Washington, D.C. to take part in the National March for Life. We make this pilgrimage to defend the Catholic teaching of the right to life for every person from natural conception to natural death. D.C. is filled with the rich history of our nation which we get to study and defend in this annual march on the nation’s capital.

We also host occasional pilgrimages and we always take groups to World Youth Day.

Service Opportunities

The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’” (Mt. 25:40).We work to provide a variety of service opportunities to high-school teens including nursing home visits, soup kitchen service, and serving within the greater parish community, among many other opportunities.

Project 600 – A massive annual Christmas party for inner-city kids from some of the poorest areas of Denver. This project incorporates volunteer preparation for the event, as well as generous parish toy donations as Christmas gifts for the kids. Click here to learn more.
