St. Gabriel’s life started a chain of holiness which includes many of the Church’s saints, blesseds and venerables such as St. Gemma Galgani who prayed to him for intersession. With the grace of God, Gabriel conquered every fault and evil inclination in his nature. By nature he was inclined to disobedience but became humbly submissive, inclined to vanity he took on the habit of the Passionist, inclined to social pleasure he joined a monastery. He saw the will of God in all things and united himself to it in blind obedience. Practicing charity, Gabriel renounced self, home and the world for the love of God. Gabriel died from tuberculosis at the age of 24.
Our perfection does not consist of doing extraordinary things but to do the ordinary well.
