Activities

  • Prayer
    Includes Rosaries at St. Thomas More Church the first weekend in May and October, peaceful prayer vigils during 40 Days For Life, chartered bus trips to Planned Parenthood in the spring and Good Friday, individual private prayer as well as monthly hourly prayer commitment at Planned Parenthood, monthly hour of Eucharistic Adoration by individuals and National Night of Prayer for Life Vigil in December.
  • Speakers and Movies
    Host at St. Thomas More Church and through the Diocese to promote education on Respect Life issues.
  • Roses or Prayer Cards
    Distribute on Mother’s Day weekend celebrating the blessings of motherhood and of children.
  • White Crosses
    Display in May or October and to loan to other parishes as a reminder of the 4,000 babies killed each day by abortion in the U.S..
  • Archdiocesan Respect Life Activities
    Include Mass at the Cathedral on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade in January and support of the Lighthouse Women’s Center in Denver. Also support Gabriel Project and Gabriel House. Advertise Project Rachel and Rachel’s Vineyard post-abortive assistance. For more information, visit Catholic Charities at www.ccdenver.org.
  • Community Involvement
    Participate in the Colorado Right to Life Rally at State Capitol steps and Denver March for Life in January.

Communication

  • Parish publications
    Include the More Informed newsletter published in February, April, June, August, October and December and the weekly bulletin with Respect Life news to educate and encourage participation.
  • PRO-LIFE Email Network
    Encourages civic responsibility regarding pro-life actions pending in the State and Federal legislature and/or provides letters for parishioners to mail to the appropriate legislator encouraging each to vote pro-life. Support Colorado Catholic Conference and USCCB efforts.
