Wedding Coordinator

Position Overview

The Marriage & Family Life department is looking for a Wedding Coordinator that will accompany couples through the planning and execution of their rehearsal & ceremony for their Sacrament of Matrimony.

Requirements

  • Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
  • Mandated, or willing to be mandated, as a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish
  • Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals
  • Possess strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as email applications

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review wedding spreadsheets monthly and work alongside other coordinators to select assignments
  • Initiate and fulfill meetings with engaged couples 2-4 weeks prior to their ceremony to tour the sanctuary, answer their questions and review the liturgy planning guide
  • Accompany engaged couples through all planning details surrounding their rehearsal and ceremony by phone, email, and personal meetings
  • Set-up, maintain, and clean-up the facilities for rehearsals and weddings
  • Provide direction and problem-solving skills to couples, wedding parties, and guests
  • Work alongside maintenance to address repairs, security concerns, and medical emergencies
  • Perform sacristan responsibilities, including communion setup, clean up, and occasional fulfillment as a Eucharistic Minister
  • Work alongside audio-visual technicians during wedding ceremonies
  • Communicate with musician coordinator and musicians prior to the ceremony to discuss and confirm logistics and details
  • Follow direction provided by the Director of Marriage & Family Life, as well as the Director of Liturgy when it pertains to liturgy details
  • Participate and cooperate in trainings, department meetings and annual reviews
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marriage & Family Life

Physical requirements

Visual acuity both near and far, manual dexterity with good eye/hand coordination, good hearing, and speech; ability to sit for extended periods; standing walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, and squatting as necessary to perform the duties of the position; ability to lift/move objects of up to 25 pounds in weight. Physically able to lift and move chairs, small tables and kneelers.

Director of Facilities

Position Overview

Are you an experienced facilities manager looking to make a difference working for a parish church? Are you ready to bring your talents to bear in service of the Lord?

St. Thomas More Catholic Parish in Centennial, Colorado is looking for a Director of Facilities. This position provides general supervision over the facilities and grounds (entire campus of the parish) ensuring the day-to-day functioning and maintenance/upkeep, including forecasting for replacements and upgrades of systems and materials. This person will, identify, hire, and manage subcontractors for work not completed by the facilities team, while managing and contributing to the work of the facilities team.

Requirements: 

Extensive experience in facilities management, general knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, etc. Competency in computers and software-controlled systems.

 Have a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work. Refrain from public promotion or approval of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the parish, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.

Essential Duties:

General oversight over the facilities and grounds (entire campus) ensuring the day-to-day functioning and maintenance/upkeep, including forecasting for replacements and upgrades of systems and materials. Identify, hire, and manage subcontractors for work not completed by the facilities team. Manage and contribute to the work of the facilities team. Work with all employees, especially the department directors, in responding to maintenance needs/issues and planning for future replacements and upgrades.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrator over:
    • Raptor security for the school
    • Trane programs for heating and A/C
    • Lighting systems
    • Third party vendors/contractors for cleaning, water, gas, trash, landscaping, snow removal, etc.
    • Insurance claims for auto and facilities.
    • Inspections for fire systems, hoods, extinguishers, back flow preventors, water systems, and elevators
    • Maintenance ticketing system and the closing of tickets.
    • Security Cameras
  • In collaboration with the Campus Security Coordinator, assist with security, safety, and law enforcement for major holidays and events, and in the implementation and installation of security measures.
  • Cover shifts for employees on vacation or sick time.
  • Help to plan the annual facilities budget and manage expenses through the year.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or the pastor.

Gift Shop Manager

Position Overview
The Gift Shop Manager will be a practicing Catholic. This position is responsible for the supervision and administrative work of our parish gift shop. Responsibilities are performed with considerable independence, with oversight from the Director of Finance and Operations. Inventory controls and merchandising is purchased using information gathered from the sales and marketing plan and sales potential. This individual will also work with the Director to ensure compliance with Archdiocesan policies and local, state, and federal regulations. This position supervises both paid part-time employees and volunteers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Supervises daily operation of the gift shop; meets, greets, and assists customers in selecting gifts and other merchandise.
  • Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of the Lightspeed POS system and reconciliation to the parish financial system.
  • Helps the Director develop the annual operating budget for the gift shop.
  • Ensures day end procedures are maintained and prepares weekly bank deposit, provided to the Parish Accounting Manager.
  • Maintains appropriate files for accounts payable and inventory.
  • Ensures proper coding of invoices and timely payment of outstanding invoices.
  • Maintains vendor files and relationships.
  • Organizes the sales floor for the display and presentation of merchandise for effective support of sales; changes displays regularly with a consideration to buying audience and season.
  • Responsible for the annual inventory of merchandise and reconciliation to parish records.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Graduation from high school, supplemented by courses in merchandising and business, supervision experience and experience in sales and buying for retail.
  • Minimum of three years in a similar role.
  • Flexibility as hours can be 45 plus per week including weekends and occasional weeknights.
  • Desired experience with Lightspeed POS system or other retail POS system.
  • Desired experience working in a parish setting that operates a gift shop.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize many concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Creative and quick intellect, coupled with strong business judgement and an analytical mindset.
  • Can lift 40 pounds or more.
