Building Bridges by Building Homes
Muslims and Christians Finding Common Ground
What religious beliefs do we have in common? What teachings of Jesus do we share? What do our religious holidays mean? How would our world be different if the two largest religions--Christianity and Islam--truly opened a bridge to understanding?

Imam Ibrahim Kazerooni will moderate a lively and thought provoking conversation with The Reverend Andrew Kemberling of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Imam Karim Abu Zaid of the Colorado Muslim Society, and Pastor Brian Henderson from Calvary Baptist Church. They will present fundamental lessons with a focus on compassion for people in need regardless of race, religion or culture.

The evening will culminate with a special conversation with the Mohamoud-Jilo Family. Abshir, Farhiya and their six children are building their own Habitat for Humanity home with the help of our Habitat Helpers coalition of churches. Their family story is both heartrending and joy-filled. For years, they lived a painful and difficult life in East African refugee camps. Today, they live in a two-bedroom Denver apartment. Don't miss their story of survival, culture shock and a quest for a better life. With Habitat Helpers' volunteers and support from area churches, they will be soon be in a new home to call their own.
