Event Location:

As we begin our Lenten season, joining the She Shall Be Called Woman program is an excellent way to grow in our spirituality, learn more about ourselves and meet other wonderful women. Please join us this Wednesday, February 24 as we begin the next 6 sessions for spring. We meet at 6:15 a.m. until 7:20 a.m. Ask your husband to help with the kids and join us. We always finish on time to give everyone plenty of time to get to work.
This week’s session begins with a deeper look at Ephesians chapter 5, which provides the foundation for a Christian understanding of marriage: “!is is a great mystery” (Eph 5: 32). Marriage is not merely a human institution, but goes to the depths of the Christian mystery - the relationship between Christ and His Church, of which it is an image. At the heart of this is God’s desire for us to encounter Him through other people, and especially (as we see in Ephesians) through our spouse. Christ radiates His presence through others, so that just as God dwells within us (as we saw in the last step), we are God’s human face to the world. Woman has a very special place in this mystery, as Pope Benedict so eloquently states: “Gazing upon the captivating charm that radiates from woman due to the inner grace God has given her, the heart of man is enlightened and he sees himself reflected in her” ‘!is at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh’ (Genesis 2:23). Woman is another ‘I’ who shares in the same human nature.”
