Hey High School Students!
Your last 4 years at home are hectic - your schedule is overflowing. But you won't regret making time to be at St. Thomas More! Join us for an adventure that only Christ offers, as you dive into the thing that matters most in life - a relationship with Love and Truth incarnate! There's always something going on in high school ministry at STM, so no matter what you're interested in, you'll find something on our calendar for you.
All high school youth are encouraged to register with youth ministry each year; please go to Programs for details.
Hope to see you soon!
April 11-13, 2014
Take a weekend to dive into a deeper encounter with the Lord during Lent. This is the perfect way to take advantage of the season! If you're a sophomore or older, you are eligible to serve on Team. Team applications will be published in February.
If you have questions, please contact David Tschumper by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 1.
We have room for a couple more high school youth - talk to Sue ASAP!
Every summer finds us putting our faith in action with Alternative Summer Break, or ASB. Our 2014 ASB trip is scheduled for the Philippines, where we will teach VBS to younger children and lead Bible studies with local high school youth. All high school youth in the Class of 2016 and older will be eligible to apply.
Alternative Summer Break is our annual international mission trip for upperclassmen in high school. In past years we've served in Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Kenya, and Jamaica. For more information about ASB, please contact Sue Frank, by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3.

Saturday, December 7
All new freshmen are invited to join us for a special evening just for you. Celebrate the start of high school with dinner and laser tag at Laser Quest! It's a great night to get to know your fellow classmates and look ahead to the adventures that the next 4 years can bring. All freshmen are welcome, so feel free to bring your friends from school.
Space may be limited! Contact Sue Frank by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3 if you have questions.
Sunday, December 15
Dress in your best and join us for the annual Advent Formal dinner and dance. We'll begin the evening with the 5:30pm Life Teen Mass, followed by a catered dinner in the Padre Restaurant and dancing in the Youth Center! Please see the flyer below for details.
Spring date TBA
All high school girls are invited to join us for an evening with the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia (also called the Nashville Dominicans), teachers at St. Vincent de Paul grade school and Machebeuf High School. Most of us have never even met a nun, much less talked to one, so it's a great opportunity to learn a little bit more about this important part of the Church's presence in our world.
We'll join in prayer with the sisters and the residents, enjoy dinner and discussion with the sisters, and get a glimpse of the life of a Dominican Sister. Please contact Sue Frank if you have questions, either by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3.
2014 dates TBA
Feeling overscheduled? Stretched too thin? Just want a chance to get away from the hectic craziness for awhile? Then Peace Hut is perfect for you. Take a few days on the Eastern Plains of Colorado to rediscover true joy, reconnect with God, and refocus on what truly matter most.
Peace Hut is typically held in mid June; check back in Spring 2014 about the next Peace Hut retreat or email David Tschumper with questions.
Shiprock, New Mexico
March 22-29, 2014
Tuesday, November 5 (6:00-7:00pm) and Sunday, November 10 (4:00-5:00pm)
Why not choose a different kind of Spring Break experience this year? Mission Possible is a great opportunity to serve and live in a different part of the U.S. The past few years we've been road tripping to Shiprock to work with our Catholic brothers and sisters on the Navajo Reservation. When it's all said and done, we receive so much more than we give.
If you are interested in being part of the 2014 Mission Possible team (the Posse!) please attend one of the information meetings with a parent. Please note that the 2014 week is Spring Break for many schools, but not all. Please check your school's calendar. Contact Sue by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3 if you have questions.
2014 dates TBA
While we know there is great need in our world, there are many opportunities for us to serve in our own backyard. That's why all high school youth (including incoming freshmen and graduated seniors) are invited to be part of the Inner City Mission Trip every summer. Spend 5 days living and working in downtown Denver - you'll never see our hometown in the same way again!
Space is always very limited, so sign up early. Look for information about the 2014 Inner City trip in late spring. If you have questions, contact Sue Frank on email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3.
2014 weekend TBD
SLW has taken a fun new route - camping together at Golden Gate Canyon State Park! This retreat is geared towards all high school youth who are currently serving in leadership positions at STM, as well as those who would like to step into leadership. Challenge yourself!
SLW is typically held in early September, so please watch the calendars for more information at the beginning of the summer. Contact David Tschumper with questions by email or at 303-220-3388 x1.
2014 dates TBA
JTL is our most popular and beloved retreat of the year. Many graduating seniors say that one of their best high school memories is attending or serving on Team for Journey to Life. Come see what everyone is talking about!
JTL is usually the first weekend of November - check back at the beginning of the school year for details. Contact David Tschumper by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 1 if you have questions.
Each month we send a small group to a local soup kitchen, located downtown at 12th and Mariposa. This is a great chance to serve those in need and challenge yourself to recognize what we so often take for granted.
STM Youth Ministry helps serve at the Broadway Assistance Center one Thursday each month, usually on the 4th Thursday. Be sure to check the calendars for specific dates. Space is extremely limited and usually fills up quickly, so get signed up on the Youth Table at the beginning of each month. Middle school and high school youth are welcome to volunteer. Please note that we are unable to allow youth to sign up more than one month in advance. If you have questions about the soup kitchen, please contact Sue Frank by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3.
