High School Youth Service Opportunity Posts
Inner City of Denver Mission Trip
Wednesday, July 11 - Sunday, July 15, 2012
While we know there is great need in our world, there are many opportunities for us to serve in our own backyard. That's why all high school youth (including incoming freshmen and graduated seniors) are invited to be part of the Inner City Mission Trip every summer. Spend 5 days living and working in downtown Denver - you'll never see our hometown in the same way again!
Space is always very limited, so sign up early. Check back soon for the application and permission slip. If you have questions, contact Sue Frank on email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3.
Project 600 Inner City Christmas Party
THANK YOU to all who helped make Project 600 possible in 2011. It was a great event, with 630 children served. See you next year!
For over 20 years, St. Thomas More has hosted Project 600, a collaborative effort to throw an amazing Christmas party for 600 preschool children from some of Denver's poorest neighborhoods. Toy collections begin in November. The 2012 dates are already set - please see below.
Mission Possible Spring Break Mission Trip
Shiprock, New Mexico
Why not choose a different kind of Spring Break experience this year? Mission Possible is a great opportunity to serve and live in a different part of the U.S. The past few years we've been road tripping to Shiprock to work with our Catholic brothers and sisters on the Navajo Reservation. When it's all said and done, we receive so much more than we give.
Look for information about the 2013 Mission Possible in December. Contact Sue by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3 if you have questions.
Alternative Summer Break 2013 - Montego Bay, Jamaica
Every summer finds us putting our faith in action with Alternative Summer Break, or ASB. In 2012 we will return to Peru to serve in the slums of Lima. The Peru team is assembled and preparing already; please keep us in your prayers! All youth in the Classes of 2013-2015 are encouraged to pray about joining the 2013 ASB Team as we return to Montego Bay, Jamaica, to work in an orphanage for disabled children. Additional information meetings will be held in the fall of 2012.
Alternative Summer Break is our annual international mission trip for upperclassmen in high school. In past years we've served in Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Kenya, and Jamaica. For more information about ASB, please contact Sue Frank, by email or at 303-220-3388 ext. 3.
