Welcome to Family Program
The late Pope John Paul II taught that the prime religious educators of a child are their parents. Parents are called upon to implement Christian values in the daily life of their family. The catechist provides information, experience and personal witness which builds upon the initial instructions of the parents. It is through the integration of home and religion class that Christian love can flourish, and therefore, the foundation of Family Program was created.
What is Family Program?
*an at-home religious education program
*supports the parents as the primary educators of their children
*provides monthly classes - parents separated from children - to reinforce the
importance of community in teachings
*not limited to the immediate family – grandparents, aunts and uncles are also invited!
*Child care is available for toddlers.
Register your family for Track A, B or C. Registration forms are available in the Office of Catechesis (RE Office) and a link on the far right.

Respect Life!
Our focus objective for 2011-12 in the Office of Catechesis is to promote and support the sanctity of human life in our society. All of our groups in our Commission are aware of this and are praying a prayer for respect for all Human Life:
Heavenly Father, your cosmic gaze focused on dust and you fashioned in your image and likeness every man and woman: give us, we beg you, a keen eye to recognize that image so that respect for all human life becomes our way of life. Grant this through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
Family Program Registration
Due to enormous response and interest, Family Program is expanding to three sessions for the 2011-2012 program. Family Program is an at-home catechesis program. Once a month, it provides a supplement by educating children PreK through high school in a classroom setting, and their parents in another. The parental classrooms include guest speakers, small group discussions and a variety of resources. Pre-registration for this program will be held in March for all current Family Program participants.
August 2010
The summer is almost over, and by now I am sure everyone is anxiously preparing for school to begin. I had an awesome past couple of months with my family. We had our first trip to California and our first camping experience. Wow! You can see "adventure" has been part of our theme, and maybe yours as well.
Sandwich Brigade
Family Program participates in an outreach program called Sandwich Brigade with Samaritan House. Each month sack lunches are created at home, dropped off at St. Thomas More on select dates, and then delivered by select families to Samaritan House.
