7 Steps to Becoming Financially Free - A Testimony
A common financial mistake is to exclude God from finances. Proverbs 3:6 states, “Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” Here is how one person described the life-changing impact of learning and applying Godly principles in his/her financial life:
“Three years ago my wife and I were living on credit. We had over $65,000 in credit card debt even though I only made about $40,000 yearly. We routinely paid for daily expenses and bills with revolving debt. We just kept moving the balances around.”
“Since going through ‘7 Steps for Financial Freedom’ we have not added one dollar to our revolving balance. We have paid off over $27,000 in credit card debt, and we are on track to be out of revolving debt in less than three years. We are selling the house we couldn’t afford with the adjustable rate mortgage, and the cars are paid off.”
“We have increased our giving from 10 percent of our net income to 10 percent of our gross income to charity. We have done this while our family has grown from two children to expecting our fourth this year. We will never go back to living beyond our means.”
“Trusting God and breaking free from the bondage of debt is helping us to be more available to serve our growing family and our parish. The grace we have been given by God through surrender has been humbling. Prudence and Christian stewardship are truly liberating. ‘7 Steps to Becoming Financially Free’ opened us up to a spiritual conversion and financial freedom.”
Isn’t that powerful? God never intended for us to separate our financial lives from our faith! Yet our consumer culture and the sway of the media both wage war against this teaching. It’s time for a change.
